CHEMICAL PEELS.

A chemical peel is one of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin. While primarily used on the face, chemical peels can also enhance the skin on your neck, chest, back, and hands. They treat acne, acne scars, age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, freckles, melasma, irregular skin pigmentation, rough skin, scaly patches, scars, and sun-damaged skin. At Timeless Med Spa, we offer customized chemical peels tailored to your skin's needs.

Pre-Care Instructions

3 - 4 weeks before your peel:

  • Prepare your skin with glycolic acid and/or retinol resurfacing products.

1 week before your peel, avoid the following:

  • Waxing/Depilatories
  • Laser Hair Removal
  • Facial Services
  • Microdermabrasion/Dermaplaning
  • Sun Exposure

1 to 3 days before your peel:

  • Discontinue the use of retinol products.
What to Expect During the Treatment

The procedure typically lasts around 30-40 minutes. After cleansing the treatment area, a peeling agent is applied, which may be washed off or left on the skin, depending on the type of peel. The provider will follow these steps:

  1. Cleanse the skin and, if necessary, apply a topical anesthetic.
  2. Apply the chemical peel solution, formulated to your specific needs. You may feel a tingling or stinging sensation.
  3. After the prescribed time, the solution is washed off with water, and a soothing ointment or petroleum jelly is applied.

Multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired results, depending on your skin condition and the strength of the peel.

What Happens After Treatment?

Post-treatment, you may experience aggressive skin resurfacing for maximum rejuvenation. Here's what to expect:

  • Immediately after the peel: Skin may appear frosted and/or sunburned, with potential increased redness.
  • Day 1: Skin may feel dry and tight, with mild itching.
  • Day 2: Skin may darken, with continued mild itching, tightness, and dry skin until sloughing and peeling occur.
  • Day 2-3: Skin sloughing and peeling begin and may continue for 2-4 days. Peeling usually starts around the mouth and moves outward.

DO NOT SCRUB, PICK, OR PULL PEELING SKIN.
